Initiated by Dr. Helen Ngo for the 2026 Annual Conference, this bursary supports conference attendance for emerging and precariously employed scholars working in critical philosophy of race; Indigenous philosophies; post-, anti- and de-colonial philosophies; and closely adjacent fields.

The bursary is offered in recognition of the critical importance of these fields of inquiry, and the need to interrogate what it means to do philosophy in places shaped by ongoing histories of settler colonial and racist violence.

We actively encourage participants who identify as First Nations and who are scholars working in the above-mentioned fields to apply.

Please note the following requirements must be met to be eligible for the bursary:

• Current status as a Higher Degree by Research (PhD or Masters) student, under-employed/unemployed Early Career Researcher, or independent scholar.
• Research focus in critical philosophy of race; Indigenous philosophies; post-, anti- and de-colonial philosophies; and adjacent fields
• Australasian residency (defined as: Australia, New Zealand, PNG, and South Pacific islands).

The successful applicant(s) will receive $500 to assist them in attending the conference in person, as well as complimentary ticket to the conference dinner, and registration and ASCP membership for the year.
